The paleolithic diet a.ka. Paleo diet is a modern meal plan based on food that was taken by our ancestors during the Paleolithic era. There is not much accurate information about the paleo diet but most researchers and scientists believe that it contains whole foods.

Following is the list of the food items which are suggested for the Paleo diet:-

  1. Fruits and vegetables
  2. Nuts and seeds
  3. Fish.
  4. Oil from Seeds and nuts

While these are the following list of food items which are not supposed for the Paleo diet:-

  1. Sugar-Based Products
  2. Processed Foods
  3. Legumes (Tofu, Peanuts, Lentils)
  4.  Salt
  5. Refined Vegetable oils
  6. Cereal Grain-based products.

Paleo Diet Benefits

With tough physical activities and a whole-food-based diet, the paleo diet helps in countering diseases like obesity, diabetes, and heart problems.

It is effective if you want to reduce unwanted fats and weights by burning excessively stored fats.

Multiple research shows that the paleo diet also helps in increasing skin and teeth health with the usage of organic things and reducing the elements which can be created by artificial and non-organic products.

Disadvantages of Paleo Diet

Paleo Diet mostly contains the raw elements with no artificial material, but this is what makes this diet expensive in comparison to other diets.

We can also note the fact that we are not paleolithic age which was 10 thousand years old times in which flora and fauna were different than now. Paleo diet doesn’t completely comply with the current requirement of nutrients because plants and animals have also evolved alongside humans.

Also, many studies show that a pure form of the paleo diet is not as much working as many websites claim. 

Additionally, excluding the diary items and other items with necessary nutrients, this diet is unable to provide them. Many western masses got their calcium from dairy products and hence paleo diet fails to comply here.
